SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – A woman has been arrested for allegedly starting a fire at a vacant apartment complex in downtown Salt Lake City on Wednesday.

Stephanie Nicole Hurst, 30, was arrested for arson, a third-degree felony after she allegedly set fire to an apartment complex downtown.

Officials say when they arrived on the scene “the whole building had gone up in flames and collapsed,” according to court records. Officials were also advised that Hurst, who was standing outside of the building had admitted to starting the fire.

Hurst told police that she was mad at the people inside of the building so she started the fire.

No one was injured in the fire.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – A vacant apartment building was on fire in downtown Salt Lake City Wednesday afternoon.

Fire crews responded to the fire near 300 West 300 South near the Salt Lake’s Greek Orthodox Church.

No injuries have been reported.

Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
