The Deputy Director for Salt Lake City’s Department of Economic Development has been selected as a winner of Utah Business Magazine’s “40 Under 40” awards. Ben Kolendar joined us on Good Morning Utah to share how his interest in economic development is helping Salt Lake City thrive.
The “40 Under 40” competition is about identifying the best practices, achievements and new thinking in Utah. One of those achievements Kolendar helped bring to the city is the upcoming United Nations Department of Public Information NGO in August.
It’s the first time this annual conference will be held on United States soil in its 68 years.
The Department of Economic Development has created or retained over 9,000 jobs in Salt Lake City and helped to raise nearly $1 billion in capital since the department was formed in 2016.
