DAVIS COUNTY (ABC4 News)- A student in Davis County proved the importance of  “see something, say something” this week.

The Utah Department of Public Safety said the young woman notified authorities after she saw a threat that possibly named a school in Garfield County on Snapchat.

The Sheriff’s Office in Garfield County notified the Department of Public Safety’s Statewide Information and Analysis Center. After investigating they eventually linked the threat to a Garfield High School in Virginia.

Authorities in Virginia were notified, and a juvenile was arrested.

“This is a perfect example of how saying something really makes the difference. The young woman in Davis County did the right thing and reported suspicious activity,” a press release stated.

You can reach out to the Department of Public Safety by calling 833-DPS-SAFE (833-377-7233).

Threats can also be reported through the SafeUT app.
