SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Today, people gathered at the Bennett Federal Building to March for Tax Justice in Salt Lake City.

The march, which is part of a nationwide event, featured several activists, community members, and political leader in the Salt Lake area.

The organizer’s goals are to inform the public about the harms of the tax plan and to encourage them to pressure congressional leaders in Utah to oppose the tax bill.

“We’re trying to spread awareness to the American people, specifically people here in Utah, to the injustice that are these tax bills being proposed,” Rebecca Hardenbrook, co-organizer of the march, told News4Utah.

They stress that the tax plan will have adverse economic, social, and political consequences for graduate students, people of color, women, the LGBTQIA community, the poor and the environment.
