DUCHESNE COUNTY (News4Utah)- Firefighters are working long, hard hours on the front lines as wildfires burn across the state.
The Dollar Ridge fire is currently one of the biggest fires in Utah. Crews have been working long and hard to do their best to protect the nearby community and recently got a pretty great thank you for their efforts.
A couple had planned on getting married at the groom’s grandfather’s house, but mandatory evacuations of the area prevented them from getting anywhere near the property.
Right before the wedding they got word that firefighters were able to save the home.
Even though they had to say “I Do” somewhere else, they were grateful to the firefighters.

Sometimes it works out alright! This couple planned on getting married at the grooms grandfathers house that the grandfather built but they weren’t allowed to enter into the fire area here on the Dollar Ridge Fire to even check to see if the house made it. With solid work done with Dalton, and Breckenridge IHC and others the house was saved. Although the newlyweds weren’t able to have their wedding at the house they came to thank us personally on their wedding day. We are grateful for the lives we impact. 🤘🏼#venividivici #hotshot #dalton #breckenridge #marriage #duty #dollarridgefire #ootah #hotshotsandhelicopters #yepthathappened photo:@chadbfacesphoto
