SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – Crews are investigating a crash that shut down parts of Redwood Road Tuesday.

According to the Bluffdale Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of 14200 South and Redwood Road.

Authorities say a 23-year-old man was driving on Redwood Road when for an unknown reason, he lost control of his vehicle.

The driver then collided with a mailbox and crashed into a power pole.

The power pole and power lines then fell down onto Redwood Road, police said.

The driver was not seriously injured and was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

Officials say Southbound Redwood Road will be limited to one lane for the next five to six hours while crews repair the power pole.

According to Rocky Mountain Power, crews are investigating two power outages in the area that have left 35 customers without power.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, Redwood Road had previously been closed in both directions between 14000 S. to 14400 S. Northbound Redwood Road has since been reopened.

The crash is estimated to be cleared around 5 p.m.

Police did not specify if anyone had been injured in the crash.
