WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah (ST. George News) –  A car crash turned into a car fire, sending a trailer splintering across the roadway Sunday morning, according to St. George News.

Authorities said officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to the crash on I-15 in Washington County at about 10:30 a.m. between a red Ford pick up truck pulling a trailer and a Subaru Forester XT.

When responders arrived, the Subaru was fully engulfed in flames but crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

Officials said the 12-foot trailer attached to the pickup was fractured into many pieces, leaving debris across both lanes of travel.

Emergency medical responders checked all occupants involved in the crash for injuries, but all individuals declined transport to the hospital.

The southbound side of I-15 just south of the exit 30 on-ramp was closed for some time during clean-up.
