County mayor explains why he wants to relocate downtown liquor store

Local News
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams wants to relocate the liquor store in downtown Salt Lake City.
He explained his reasons in a letter released Wednesday.
McAdams wrote to the Chairman of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission.  He told the chairman his request is based on more than two years of work.
He believes that if the flow of alcohol is reduced in the neighborhood near the Rio Grande Shelter, the mayor says that public safety and the ability to server vulnerable populations in Salt Lake City will be significantly improved.
The liquor store is currently four blocks from the shelter.
