SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah)- If you’re headed to the airport this weekend expect delays.
The Utah Department of Transportation will be reducing eastbound I-80 to one lane between Bangerter Highway and I-215 starting Friday night at 8 p.m. The on-ramp from the airport exit, southbound Terminal Drive, to eastbound I-80 will also be closed.
Drivers leaving the airport will need to use alternate routes. They say the on-ramp from northbound Bangerter Highway to eastbound I-80 will also be closed.
UDOT crews will be working on the eastbound I-80 bridge over the Jordan River Surplus Canal. The closures will be in place until Sunday at 8 p.m.
Other restrictions to be aware of:
- I-15 from Antelope Drive to Hill Field Road: Up to two lanes in each direction will be closed on I-15 from Antelope Drive to Hill Field Road in Layton each night beginning as early as 7 p.m. All lanes are scheduled to reopen each morning in time for the commute. These closures began last week and will continue through June 22 while workers finish construction on the new Layton Crossing bridge over I-15.
- I-15 from 12300 South to 14600 South: I-15 will be reduced to three lanes in both directions between 12300 South and 14600 South, from Saturday, June 16, at 10 p.m. to Sunday, June 17, at 8 a.m. Crews will be repairing pavement under warranty as part of the I-15 Point project.
- S.R. 210 in Little Cottonwood Canyon: A new paving project is scheduled to start on S.R. 210 in Little Cottonwood Canyon as early as Monday, June 18. Once work begins, sections of S.R. 210 will be reduced to a one-lane road with flaggers controlling traffic. These restrictions will be in effect Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Drivers should use caution and obey posted signs and flaggers in the work zone. Construction will continue through early fall as crews repave the highway from the mouth of the canyon all the way to the top.
