CLEARFIELD, Utah (ABC4 News) – There’s a “no hunger zone” at Clearfield High School. The school on Wednesday opened its own community food pantry.

Students raised $63,000 through the “Falcons are Fabulous” campaign to open the food pantry in their school.

This food pantry will hopefully help address a need in Davis County. One in five children within the school district faces food insecurity meaning they don’t know where their next meal will come from.

The school district says when the Student Body Officers at Clearfield High learned how big of a problem childhood hunger is in their community, they stepped up and took action.

Not only will this community food pantry serve the students of Clearfield High School, but it will also be open to families in need near the school.
