Clearfield police seek suspects after firearms stolen from pawn shop

CLEARFIELD, Utah (News4Utah) – Clearfield police are asking for the public’s help finding four people who stolen firearms from a pawn shop Wednesday afternoon.

Clearfield Police Department said it was called about the theft just after 3 p.m.

Police said four male suspects entered the business at Instant Cash and Loan at 437 N. Main Street and began to look around the store.

One suspect pawned a chain while the others browsed at the firearms on display.

While the employee was helping the suspect pawning the chain, police said another suspect reached around the counter and concealed a handgun. Then, a rifle was grabbed and hidden in another’s clothing.

Police said the four suspects ran from the business and then fled in a white passenger car (Update: Police confirm the vehicle was located Wednesday night).

They made off with a Bushmaster M4, .22 caliber rifle, and a Springfield XDM .40 caliber handgun.

Through their preliminary investigation, police were able to identify three of the four suspects. Police said they should be considered armed and dangerous.
