Christmas came early for children at the Odyssey House

Local News

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News)- A local business brought Christmas early to the children at the Odyssey House.

Every year Selective Artists Agency collects donated gifts from the community and selects a charity to support.

This year, they selected the Odyssey House Parents With Children Program.

The special program offers the opportunity for parents struggling with addiction to heal together with children while under the program’s care.

Parents learn healthy parenting skills from the staff and repair their relationships with their kids while learning coping skills to handle stressful times.

While in recovery it can be difficult for mothers to provide Christmas present for their children; that’s where Selective Artists Agency stepped in.

“Some of these families don’t have anything…so there’s a lot of people in the community that want to step in and help them,” Selective Artists Agency’s CEO Camille Matthews said.

Wednesday the company was able to schedule time with Old Saint Nick to stop by the Odyssey House and bring gifts to the children.
