SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Two children were injured in an auto-pedestrian crash Tuesday evening.
Police say three children between ages 7 and 9 were crossing 11800 South at 5510 West in South Jordan.
The children pushed the button and waited for the signal to cross. When they began to cross, they had a “walking man.”
A southbound vehicle driven by a 61-year-old man proceeded to make a left turn and hit two of the children. He had a green light, but not an arrow. An 8-year-old boy suffered minor injuries. He was treated on scene. A 9-year-old girl was critically injured. She was flown to the hospital.
The driver remained on scene and was cooperative with officers. He received a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
