Local News

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (News4Utah) A 6-year-old boy is fighting for his life after nearly drowning in a Taylorsville pool Monday evening.

It happened at the Crosspointe Condos near 5400 South 1300 West.

Witnesses told police the boy was being watched by a babysitter and there were other people in the pool at the time. At one point someone noticed the boy was underwater for what is believed to be five to fix minutes and a bystander pulled him out.

That person is a medical professional and immediately began CPR. Police received the call about the incident around 7:30 p.m.

The boy was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in “extremely “critical condition. Witnesses said the boy did spit up water at one point which some take as a promising sign.

Neighbors who saw the commotion said they are devastated by what happened. At this time, it’s not clear if the boy’s parents have been notified.

This is a developing story. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
