SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – Chick-fil-A warded scholarships to student restaurant team members Wednesday.
The company began awarding more than 5,700 team members $14.5 million in scholarships this week through its program called Remarkable Futures. The investment in this year’s program marks a $5.7 million increase since 2017.
Team members who are beginning or continuing their higher education will be awarded scholarships in the amount of $2,500 or $25,000.
Holly Curby, a single mother of two, graduated with a Bachelor of Science 14 years ago. She’s recently headed back to school to get her master’s degree.
Kaitlin Vanroosendaal plans to own and operate her own Chick-fil-A one day. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in business, while working to support her two children and husband, who is currently in college.
Both women were surprised with giant checks for $25,000.
