Charging documents: Suspect confessed to teen’s murder to two people

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) –  Investigators have released new information regarding the murder a 15-year-old girl from Salt Lake City.

The prime suspect Shaun French, 24, confessed to killing West High School Student Baleigh Bagshaw on May 7.  Police say he fled the state immediately after the homicide, but he was eventually captured in Otero County, Colo.  Wednesday he was transferred from Colorado and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.  

According to charging documents, French admitted his involvement in Baghsaw’s murder to two other people before he told police.

One of the individuals told investigators French had blood on his hands and face the night of the homicide.

French also told police details about the murder that they still have not released to the public.

He has officially been charged with aggravated murder and aggravated burglary. French is being held on $500,000 bail.
