SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Utah) You rarely hear about a liquor law violation by a church, but it happened Tuesday at the monthly meeting of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
The violation sheet at the meeting accuses St. John the Baptist Parish in Draper of a violation during it’s annual Festival of Roses Celebration at the church located at 300 East 11800 South.
Alcohol was being served legally through what is called a ‘single event’ license. An employee at the event was caught consuming alcohol while on duty and that is a violation, just like bartenders are forbidden to imbibe while working.
The church had to pay $627 to the DABC. $500 for the fine and $127 in administrative costs. DABC records show no previous violations by the Parish.
