Case of gun found at Draper aquarium to be turned over to prosecutors

DRAPER, Utah (News4Utah) – There’s new information about the case of a loaded gun found in a bathroom at a Draper aquarium.

Police said on Tuesday, July 10, a patron of the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium left a loaded gun in the women’s bathroom.

Another patron told aquarium management and Draper police were called. Draper officers responded, unloaded the firearm and took it into their possession.

Police said later in the evening the owner of the firearm called to claim ownership.

Investigators said, “after further review of the facts of this case, we reached out the to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office to review this incident.” They will be presenting this information to the District Attorney’s Office who will decide if there is enough evidence to support a criminal charge.
