PARLEYS CANYON, Utah (News4Utah) –The driver of a gray Toyota Scion lost control of his vehicle and rolled into oncoming traffic before colliding with an ambulance on I-80 Sunday afternoon.
Utah Highway Patrol said the driver was traveling eastbound on I-80 around 1 p.m. near Parley’s Summit milepost 139 when he lost control on the wet roads..
The Scion entered the median and rolled before entering westbound lanes. A Gold Cross ambulance was headed west and rear end of the Scion. The collision caused the ambulance to hit a Jeep also traveling west.
The driver of the Scion was taken in serious condition by ground ambulance to the University of Utah Hospital.
The Gold Cross Ambulance was transporting a patient to Salt Lake at the time of the crash. No one else was injured.
