Canyons District teachers look forward to big pay raise

Local News

SANDY (News4Utah) – The Canyons School Board will vote Tuesday night on an agreement to increase teacher’s pay and improve benefits.

Erika Bradshaw is the President of the Canyons Education Association; she says, “Districts are realizing that they have got to be competitive if they want to attract teachers and if they want to keep them in their district.”

The new agreement includes an incremental level salary increase across the board, improved health insurance coverage, a $3,000 stipend for special-education teachers, and a one-time bonus of $500 for all educators.

After tonight’s vote by the School Board, the Education Association will vote to ratify in a week. Find Tuesday’s meeting information here
