SALT LAKE CITY (News4Utah) — Free Comic Book Day is an annual event founded on the belief that for every person out there, there’s a comic book that they’ll love. The first Saturday in May, the industry comes together to give away free comics and encourage fans, both old and new, to flock to the best place in the comic book community: local comic shops. This year, Free Comic Book Day Lands on Saturday, May 5th, 2018.

Local shops all around Utah are participating in Free Comic Book Day, many bringing in comic book writers and artists to do book signings and meet fans.

Last year, News4Utah stopped by Black Cat Comics in Sugar House, as well as Dark Soldiers Comics in Sandy and Night Flight in Murray.
