Campaign helps outfit military children for back-to-school

Supporting our troops also includes supporting their families and making sure military kids have what they need to go back to school this fall.

Hill Field Elementary School and Operation Homefront are teaming up on the Operation Homefront Back to School Brigade on Friday, Aug. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school.  
The Back-to-School Brigade is Operation Homefront’s nationwide collection of school supplies and backpacks that will be distributed to military families and to the families of wounded warriors.  The event at Hill Field Elementary School on Friday is one of more nearly 60 distribution events across the country.
Shoppers may purchase and donate school supplies to the Back-to-School Brigade® at any Dollar Tree store through August 10.  This is the ninth year that Dollar Tree has partnered with Operation Homefront to provide school supplies to military children.  Last year, Dollar Tree patrons donated more than 4.5 million supplies nationally.
Hill Field Elementary Schools population is 95+% military dependent children, primarily serving students who live on Hill Air Force Base. 
The signup deadline is Wednesday at for families interested in receiving supplies.
