Calvary Baptist Church celebrates 126 years of service

Local News

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4utah) – Calvary Baptist Church in Salt Lake City is commemorating 126 years of worship and service.

The celebration has been going on all week long, with their anniversary actually being Sunday, Nov 11. Saturday they had a lot of festivities including food, drinks, a chili cook-off, face painting, a bounce house, nail decorating and so much more.

“While Calvary enjoys 126 years, we’re not committed to writing the coattails of being around that long,” said Robert Merrills, Assistant Pastor for Calvary Baptist Church. “We know that any day we can be gone. We want to continue to be a vibrant active member of this community.”

” We were here before Utah was even a state,” said Cori Price, Calvary Baptist Church. “So that’s enough to celebrate that we were known that long ago.”

The celebration continued through Sunday. ABC4’s Brittany Johnson was there helping and as the emcee to the event.
