A husband and wife who survived the Las Vegas shooting were killed in a car crash October 16th.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Dennis and Lorraine Carver of California died after their vehicle crashed into a gate outside of their Riverside County community and burst into flames.

“After the shooting, they heard from all of the people they cared about most. They were so happy,” their 20-year-old daughter told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “The last two weeks of their lives were really just spent living in the moment.”

During the music festival shooting ABC News reports Dennis jumped on top of his wife to shield her from flying bullets. They managed to escape without injury.

The Carvers had reportedly been together for 22 years.
