Cache County doctor arrested on charges of aggravated sexual abuse

CACHE COUNTY (News4Utah)- A doctor in Cache County has posted bail after he was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child.

Police say 41-year-old Brevan Baugh was booked into Cache County Jail on July 5th.

Officials confirmed to News4Utah Baugh is a doctor. A quick Google search shows he is a licensed Naturopathic Physician. The website shows Baugh’s medical practice is located in Providence at 169 Gateway Drive, Suite 130.

“Anything we know right now, it has nothing to do with his practice,” said Sheriff Chad Jensen.

But now his career is in jeopardy.  Monday, Baugh was charged with two counts of aggravated child sex abuse by the Cache County attorney.

“It’s a child victim, younger than 13 when the incidents first started,” said Sheriff Jensen.

Baugh was jailed Friday but was out on bail.  Monday investigators who identified themselves with the Division of Professional Licensing were at his office in Providence.

Meanwhile, the Cache County sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation against Baugh.  They are unsure if others have been victimized.

“Being in a position that he is in, as a physician, we don’t know the answer to that question and if there are people out there who have some concerns, have some questions, we would love them to call our investigators,” said Sheriff Jensen.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cache County Sheriff’s Detective Bird at 435-755-1180.
