SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 News) Two-time Olympian and Olympic speedskating bronze medalist, Brittany Bowe was awarded this year’s Utah Female Olympian of the Year.
Bowe joined ABC4 News at Midday to talk about her journey to that title.
She has had an incredible career with 15 world cup medals, a world record, a world championship title and two world cup titles. Those titles didn’t come without adversity, her 2018-2019 season comes after suffering an injury, resulting in a concussion two years ago.

It’s an honor to stand between the first two ladies to skate 1000 meters under 1:12.0 in the history of speed skating. Records are meant to be broken and barriers are meant to be broken through. This was a memorable weekend of racing full of both! Congratulations to @miho.t_ss and @nao.kodaira for raising the level to heights we could have only dreamed about a few years ago. I will say, I’m proud to take the crown of the fastest of all time…for now. 📷 Martin de Jong
