‘Boiling water challenge’ sending people to the hospital

It’s been so cold in some places, people are doing what’s called the “boiling water challenge.” People throw hot water into the super cold air and watch it instantly freeze.

It’s gone viral lately since the polar vortex across the country in recent weeks. Now, hospitals say they are seeing an increase in people with serious burns to their faces, arms, and legs.

It’s not just the people doing it, it’s the people watching who are getting hurt too.
