UTAH COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – A body discovered near Spanish Fork was positively identified Tuesday.

The body was recovered Monday from an abandoned car on farm near Spanish Fork.

An autopsy determined the body belonged to Steven Reed Terry, 39, who had been missing since April 26, 2017. Utah County Sheriff’s Office said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Around the time of his disappearance, his wife reported receiving a text message from Terry that led her to believe her might hurt himself.

Family and friends searched extensively for him without any success.
