TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – The man found dead on I-80 in Tooele County has been identified.
Early Tuesday morning, UHP responded to a body that had been run over in Tooele County. While one semi-truck remained on scene, troopers say no other vehicles were found in the area.
Later that day, UHP says they received a report from concerned friends of the 27-year-old man saying the person involved could be someone they knew.
The friends told troopers the unidentified man had been traveling with them in the early morning hours Tuesday, adding that he was intoxicated and an argument had happened.
The man reportedly tried to exit the vehicle several times while they were driving. After they stopped several times, the man got out of the vehicle and told the others someone else was going to give him a ride.
His friends say they then left the area.
Shortly after, troopers say they were called to a body in the roadway and found the man dead.
That man has been identified as Filiberto Tapia-Guerrero from Salt Lake City. The incident remains under investigation.

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – Authorities say the body found along I-80 in Tooele County Tuesday morning is that of a 27-year-old man.
Early Tuesday morning, Utah Highway Patrol confirmed a body had been found “hit in the right lane” of eastbound I-80 near milepost 25.
Authorities say no other information is available at this time.

TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – A body has been found in Tooele County along I-80.
Utah Highway Patrol tells ABC4 the “body has been hit in the right lane” of eastbound I-80 near milepost 25.
No unattended vehicles were found in the area, and no other details were immediately available.
The right lane of I-80 eastbound is closed while authorities investigate the scene.
