TOOELE COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah)- Crews are letting a fire essentially “do it’s thing” after it started during a lightning storm.
Officials with North Tooele Fire said they learned Thursday night a brush fire had ignited sometime during the night Wednesday on the Utah Test and Training Range property and the BLM was just letting it burn.
“It has burned over 10,000 acres and they were letting it burn vegetation up to a fire break they have bulldozed into their south boundary due to limited resources,” they said.
The fire is reportedly not threatening any structures. The BLM reportedly staged a crew on the south boundary Thursday night to keep an eye on it and make sure it didn’t flare up past the fire break.
