Beastie Boys’ DJ to headline Urban Arts Festival

Local News

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) The lineup for the Urban Arts Festival has been released, for what is expected to be the largest weekend in the festival’s seven year history.

Mix Master Mike from the Beastie Boys will headline the festival stage on Saturday, September 16. He is among 50 artists announced Friday at the Gallivan Center. Two hundred vendors, including food trucks, will compliment the free festival.

Organizers say they worked hard to get Mix Master Mike, a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, to the Beehive State.

“This will be Mix Master Mike’s only stop in Salt Lake City (this year). It will be the first time he’s done a public appearance in about 19 years in Salt Lake City,” Derek Dyer said.

The festival is scheduled for September 16-17.

In addition to the music and art, there will also be a basketball tournament and fashion show.
