UPDATE: According to Wasatch County Sheriff Justin Martinez, both suspects wanted in connection to a murder in Denver and a bank robbery in Kimball Junction were arrested in Oregon.
In a press release issued by the Oregon State Police law enforcement received a call at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday to a Red Robin Restaurant in Roseburg on a report of an attempted carjacking.
The suspects were unsuccessful in stealing the vehicle and fled in their original car.
Roseburg Police Department said they were able to take one suspect into custody who had been left behind.
Jose Lopez-Jovel, 31, from El Salvador was booked into the Douglas County Jail.
The other suspect, Matthew Anthony Fanelli, 30, of New Mexico was spotted by police where he engaged in a pursuit on the freeway. During the pursuit, the suspect shot a firearm several times and struck a commercial vehicle, a passenger car, where a bullet struck the occupied child seat, and an Oregon State Police patrol car.
The pursuit continued south into Josephine County were law enforcement lost sight of him.
Once in Josephine County, Fanelli allegedly attempted to carjack another vehicle from a couple near a residence on Pickett Creek Rd.
The press release further states Fanelli shot the male and assaulted the female, but was unable to steal their car. The man shot was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Police located Fanelli’s vehicle again where he attempted to flee but his car became disabled and he was taken into custody.
Fanelli was booked into the Josephine County Jail on multiple charges.
Oregon State Police and Oregon law enforcement agencies said there are additional persons of interest that have not been apprehended.

SUMMIT COUNTY (ABC4 News) – Law enforcement agencies in three states are looking for three people in connection with multiple crimes.
Summit County Sheriff’s Office said the Kimball Junction Wells Fargo Bank branch at 6480 North SR-224 in Park City was robbed Friday.
A bank employee told police they were robbed by two men: one presented a handgun, and the other made a verbal demand for money. Deputies said no one was injured in the incident.
According to deputies, the suspects were traveling in a stolen black 2015 Cadillac CTS with Colorado license plates: 208QON. Investigators said there may be a female passenger with the two men, but they don’t know her involvement. The suspects are also believed to be involved in an early morning robbery in Cheyenne, Wyo. Friday.
Denver police also appear to be looking for the same suspects. On Twitter, Denver police shared the same surveillance photos of the suspects and asked for help identifying them. The police said they are believed to be involved in a homicide there.
