Bank robber in custody after threatening to shoot teller

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – A bank robbery suspect is in custody after he robbed a bank in Salt Lake City with a note on Saturday morning, according to officials. 

45-year-old John Dean walked into the Smith’s US bank at 1174 West 600 North at about 11:30 a.m. and handed a note to the teller that said “this is a robbery,” police said. 

Dean also threatened to shoot the teller, according to officials and was able to get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police officers were able to later find and arrest Dean and booked him into the Salt Lake County jail on bank robbery charges.
