Authorities searching for two men seen running from area near Ogden grass fire

WEBER COUNTY, Utah (News4Utah) – Firefighters have contained a fire that started above the Nature Center Trailhead Saturday morning, now searching for two men seen running from the area. 

Authorities with the Ogden Fire Department said they were called to the scene of a grass fire at 1100 N. Harrison Blvd at 9:13 am.

The fire was above the Nature Center Trailhead in the area of the shoreline trail making it difficult to access but crews were able to work the fire with hand tools, as there is no road access to the area. 

The fire burned about 1/4 acre. Seven firefighters from Ogden City Fire Department, a brush truck and a Battalion Chief are scheduled to remain on scene throughout the day to monitor any further fire activity.

Witnesses report seeing two males in their 20’s leaving the fire area after the fire started.  

The first man is described as wearing a black shirt and black shorts, black shaggy hair and a beanie cap. The second man was wearing a tie dye shirt and a beanie cap.
