WILLARD BAY STATE PARK, Utah (ABC4 News) – Officials say they have successfully recovered the body of a man from Willard Bay on Wednesday after a day of searching.

On Tuesday, February 26, Utah State Parks rangers, along with responders from Box Elder County and the Willard City Fire Department responded to Willard Bay after receiving reports of a man who may have drowned.

Authorities say after the initial search efforts, members of the of the Utah State Parks ROV Team deployed a submersible remote- operated vehicle (ROV) to help in finding the man.

Since they were unable to find him that night, they suspended their search and began again Wednesday morning. At 10:45 a.m. responders say they recovered the man’s body from the water.

Authorities are still investigating the incident. Officials say the man’s identity will be released after his family has been notified.

This is a developing story. Information will be provided as it becomes available.
