Authorities looking for suspect and vehicle in University of Utah attempted sex assault

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 News) – The University of Utah Department of Public Safety is asking the public’s help to find a suspect and vehicle from an attempted sexual assault that happened on the University of Utah campus just after midnight on Saturday, April 13.

The assault took place near 500 South near Rice-Eccles Stadium, according to authorities. 

The suspect is described as a white male with dark short hair, authorities say the suspect was wearing jeans and a dark jacket.

The suspect vehicle authorities are looking for is described as a 1998 to 2002 dark colored (blue, black or purple) Toyota Tacoma extended cab.

The truck has a utility toolbox mounted in the bed of the truck that is also a dark color and a dark colored bug deflector on the front hood, according to authorities.

They say the vehicle has aluminum alloy wheels and possibly a TRD (Toyota Racing Development) sticker on the truck bed.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with information about this vehicle or the suspect to call 801-585-COPS or 801-585-2677.
