SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Salt Lake City Police have identified the woman hit and killed near the downtown area early Monday morning.

Salt Lake City Police were called to the area of 750 W. North Temple Street shortly after 6:30 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman had been struck by a car. Despite life-saving measures, the unidentified woman died at the scene.

The woman has been identified as 47-year-old Gabriella Gomez.

During their preliminary investigation, Salt Lake City Police say the driver of the car was traveling west on W. North Temple at the time of the crash. That unidentified driver remained at the crash scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

No additional details are available at this time.

Woman fatally struck in Salt Lake City, no arrests made

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – A Salt Lake City roadway has reopened after a deadly vehicle versus pedestrian crash early Monday morning.

Salt Lake City Police were called to the area of 750 W. North Temple Street shortly after 6:30 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman had been struck by a car.

Despite life-saving measures, the unidentified woman died at the scene.

During their preliminary investigation, Salt Lake City Police say the driver of the car was traveling west on W. North Temple at the time of the crash. That unidentified driver remained at the crash scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

No arrests have been made but police say the investigation is ongoing. The Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team and SLCPD Crime Lab technicians are assisting in the investigation.

Woman hit, killed by car in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Salt Lake City early Monday morning.

Police say the crash happened at around 6:30 a.m. near 750 W. North Temple Street.

While details of the crash are limited, Salt Lake City Police say the woman is dead. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with the investigation.

ABC4 has a crew on scene working to gather additional information and will update this story as details become available. Below are photos from the scene showing the police response.

As of 8:30 a.m., eastbound traffic on North Temple has reopened. Westbound traffic is still blocked between 700 and 800 West. If you are traveling in the area, police say delays will remain for about an hour.

The ongoing investigation is affecting the nearby TRAX railways. Utah Transit Authority reports a bus bridge remains in place. Riders should board the bus northbound from the N Temple Station in the FrontRunner parking lot. UTA officers on the platform at Jackson/Euclid will direct riders to bus bridge locations.

Trains are running between Jackson and Airport stations.

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – At least one person is dead following a crash in Salt Lake City.

Police say they are investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian crash in the area of 750 W. North Temple Street.

As of 8:25 a.m., Salt Lake City Police say eastbound traffic has reopened on North Temple while westbound traffic remains blocked from 700 West to 800 West.
