Aggressive fire quickly spreads through West Jordan home

WEST JORDAN, Utah (News4Utah) – Firefighters battled a large fire that started in the garage of West Jordan home Saturday afternoon. 

The fire happened around 1:45 p.m. at a home located at 4589 West Aire Drive.  A resident of the home was working inside the garage when a fire started. The flames quickly spread and completely engulfed two cars parked inside the garage. The fire then spread up and into the attic.

Smoke could be seen for miles as the garage was overcome by flames.

Firefighters were on scene within three minutes and were able to minimize the damage before it spread to the rest of the home. 

There were five people home at the time the fire started. No one was injured.  

Damages are estimated at over $100,000.
