After 3 armed robberies in minutes, police seek suspects

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC 4 News) – Just after 1 p.m. Monday, three businesses were targeted by armed robbers, according to Salt Lake City Police.

Surveillance video shows a man in a white shirt, a backwards hat and a handgun. He orders an employee of Boost Mobile to open a cash register after directing frightened customers to put their hands in the air.

“It definitely shows that they’re emboldened, doing it in broad daylight like this,” said Sgt. Brandon Shearer with Salt Lake City Police.

After a robbery at the Boost Mobile — near the intersection of 900 West and 700 South — police said the suspects robbed La Palmita Market next door.

And then, police say, the same man in the white shirt walked into Sexy Blue Boutique clost to 1000 South and 300 West.

Alexandra Howell’s colleague was at the front counter of Sexy Blue Boutique when the suspect demanded money.

“She just starts screaming bloody murder,” said Howell.

“She just started screaming — he pulled a gun on me, he took all the money!” added Howell.

“It was horrifying. She couldn’t stop crying. She was crying for a good 30-40 minutes,” said Howell.

Police are still looking for the suspects.
