After 1 year, rally calls for action in Josh Holt case

Local News
RIVERTON, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – The community gathered Friday night for a rally in support of Josh Holt.
Holt’s family says their son and daughter-in-law have been falsely imprisoned in Caracas, Venezuela since June of last year.
“Please send him home,” Josh’s mother Laurie pleaded on Friday night.
She was flanked by U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch, who pledged his continued support for Josh Holt.
“We’ve gotten the president involved, we’ve gotten the Secretary of State involved,” said Hatch.

Josh’s mother Laurie is saddened by recent news that Josh fell from the bunk he is in — 10 feet to the ground.

“We think he has a fracture in his back; we know that he has a concussion. I just want him to be home so that this can all end and our family can be whole again,” said Laurie.

Holt’s attorney tells ABC4 that Josh is being charged with illegal possession of a war weapon; Holt, his attorney says, is being framed.
