Local News

The Humane Society of Utah and Best Friend’s Animal Society are waiving pet adoption fees for the holiday weekend.

Now through Nov. 27th you can take home a furry friend for free.

Just stop by the Humane Society located in Murray at 4242 South 300 West Friday or Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

“Our goal is to find homes for as many pets as possible this holiday season,” said Deann Shepherd, HSU representative. “During one of the busiest shopping times of the year, we like to say that you can’t buy love, but you can adopt it.”

Best Friends Pet Adoption Center also has free adoption Friday through 7 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Best Friends is located in Sugar House at 2005 South 1100 East.

“Adoption literally saves lives and fits perfectly with the growing trend toward making socially responsible holiday choices,” said Arlyn Bradshaw, Mountain West Regional Director for Best Friends Animal Society.

There will be a variety of animals available for adoption.
