ABC4 News – Last night, ABC4 Utah said goodbye to a truly outstanding journalist, colleague and friend.
Kim Fischer who has been with ABC4 for seven years and side by side with her co-anchor Don Hudson for the last five years is moving on in her career, leaving a trail of memories as a journalist and anchor behind her.
Throughout her career, she has been an advocate for victims and the voiceless. She has received numerous local and national awards and recognition for her work as a journalist and professional work.
Her willingness and love for the truth and justice make her a role model to her colleagues. On Wednesday afternoon, the ABC4 family gathered to say goodbye.
During her last show here on ABC4, Kim expressed her gratitude to the viewers.
“I just want to say thank you, thank you for allowing me into your homes every night, for trusting me enough to share your personal stories with me, your successes, your tragedies, your experiences, they have all made me a better person,” said Kim.
“You have helped me understand life outside of my own little bubble, you have created a level of empathy in me that very few humans will ever get the opportunity to experience. For that I will be forever grateful.”
Kim will be now working with the Waterford Institute and their upstart program that helps 4-5 year olds prepare for kindergarten.
From all of us here at ABC4 News… Kim, we love you, we will greatly miss you and wish you the best of luck with what lies ahead for you.
