911 call from Youngstown fire that killed 5 children: ‘Please help my babies’

Local News

Five children have died after a fire at a home on Parkcliffe Avenue in Youngstown late Sunday night.

A neighbor called 911 and relayed information back and forth between the mother and dispatcher.

The caller told the dispatcher the mother, later identified as 26-year-old America “Amy” Acevedo, begged first responders to “please help my babies.”

First responder: ‘Get me every ambulance…get ’em here’

Acevedo escaped the house by jumping out of a second-story window. She is at a Cleveland hospital in critical condition.
