TOWN OF ALTA, Utah (ABC4 News) – Six people who were skiing were caught in an avalanche up Big Cottonwood Canyon Sunday afternoon.
According to representatives with the Town of Alta, the call came in just after noon of an avalanche at the Cardiac Bowl in Big Cottonwood Canyon.
One woman suffered a knee injury and rescue teams are currently working to bring her down off the mountain.
The report came in that the Cardiac Bowl, in its entirety, slid and that is how so many were caught in the avalanche.
Rescue teams from Big Cottonwood Canyon and Unified Police Department are currently at the site of the avalanche.
