3-year-old hit by pickup truck after attending state fair

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – A little girl was hit by a pickup truck Tuesday night as she and her family were leaving the Utah State Fair. 

The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. as a family was exiting the Fair Park when their 3-year-old daughter ran into the street, according to police. 

Officials said a man driving eastbound on 300 North hit the victim. The driver stopped immediately. 

The victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

According to police, the driver had no indication of impairment, nor was there any evidence of a traffic violation.

The 3-year-old is still recovering from her injuries.
