SCIPIO, Utah (News4Utah)- A 17-year-old male is the only member of his family that survived a horrific crash Tuesday night in Scipio, troopers say.
The teen, from Archdale, North Carolina, was on vacation in Utah with his parents and brother when they were hit head-on by a white Porsche while driving on SR 50 near Scipio.
Troopers say his parents, 47-year-old Tyrone Bova and 43-year-old Holly Bova died on scene. His 11-year-old brother Haden died while en route to Primary Children’s Hospital.
Officials say the teen is in “very critical condition”.
The driver of the Porsche is in stable condition, but the 9-year-old passenger is in critical condition, officials say.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but troopers say the driver of the Porsche had passed another vehicle and “stayed left of center and did not return to her lane immediately” when she hit the family head-on.
Investigators say they are looking the possibility that speed and dogs in Porsche may have been contributed.
This is a developing story. Updates will be posted as they become available.
