3-alarm fire destroys Salt Lake City reception center

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (News4Utah) – A three-alarm fire destroyed a Salt Lake City reception center overnight. 9-1-1 dispatchers received a call at 1:40 a.m. that “dense smoke” was coming from the building located at 309 West 1500 South. When crews arrived, there were flames shooting into the air from the reception center and its adjoining warehouse.

It took dozens of firefighters about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire. While the fire was at its peak, 300 West was shut down to traffic while crews attended to the situation. No one was injured. The building was unoccupied when the fire started. The cause, origin and cost of damage to the structure is still under investigation.
