25-year-old man hit, killed by TRAX train

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (News4Utah) – A man was and hit killed by a TRAX train Sunday night.

The 25-year-old man was struck and killed by a westbound Greenline TRAX train as he was walking on the tracks near 2400 West and North Temple, according to authorities. 

Officials say the area in which he was walking was very dark, the TRAX driver did not see him but heard something after the man had been hit. 

It happened at about 9:45 p.m. with 10 passengers on the train, according to officials. 

Investigators are contacting the man’s family to determine the state of his mind and why he was walking on the TRAX. 

The identity of the man has not been released yet.
