The personal-finance website WalletHub released its report on 2019’s Most and Least Educated States in America and Utah comes in at number nine.
The study used data showing a correlation between higher education levels, higher income and lower unemployment rates. To determine where the most educated Americans live, WalletHub compared 50 states across a number of key metrics.
WalletHub’s data set ranged from adults aged 25 and older with at least a high school diploma to an average college education to gender gap in education.
How educated is Utah? The scale below goes from 1, which equals the most, to 25, which is average.
10th – % of High-School Diploma Holders
2nd – % of Associate’s Degree Holders or College-Experienced Adults
15th – % of Bachelor’s Degree Holders
21st – % of Graduate- or Professional-Degree Holders
3rd – Avg. University Quality
1st – Racial Gap in Educational Attainment
1st – Gender Gap in Educational Attainment
According to the study America’s most educated state is Massachusetts. The least educated? Mississippi.
