SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) – Ready or not, the holiday season is just about here, and part of downtown Salt Lake City is looking a bit more festive Thursday night.
The sixth annual Macy’s Holiday Candy Window Display was revealed to the public.
Six local artists designed and created oversized holiday ornaments made of candy to help Salt Lake City celebrate the holiday season.
“About thousand pound each ornament here. Six thousand pounds of candy. Almost 6 months here the artist have been working on this and it all leads up tonight they will be up through New Year’s so anyone can come by here City Creek Center and see them,” said Levi Gibens, Macy’s City Creek manager.
The tradition dates back to the early 1970s and marks the official kick-off celebration of the holiday season in Salt Lake City.
